As an Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations at Midwest Glass.
The ideal candidate will have experience in overseeing, analyzing and improving organizational processes.
The Operations Manager will be at home on the production floor.
This is not a behind the desk position.
This is a position for those that enjoy being hands on.
Job Overview Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Plan, organize, and direct day-to-day manufacturing operations Be responsible for high-quality production output and on-time delivery Help establish and work within operating budgets regarding scrap, materials, resources, and labor Promotes strong communication and interaction with other areas of company and executive management Continuously seeks to improve operational efficiencies and profitability Ensure manufacturing capabilities meet or exceed all industry and customer requirements for cost, quality, and responsiveness Assist in developing short and long-term strategies to reduce cost and improve supply chain Lead safety initiatives to create the greatest workplace safety culture possible Owns three critically important KPI's:
On-Time Delivery, Quality, Labor Cost per Unit Monitor and Evaluate performance of department managers and team members through constructive feedback (incl.
written reviews and corrective counseling, etc.
) Candidate is fully comfortable holding others accountable for their performance and output.
Make necessary changes to accelerate the completion of orders and 99% of orders on time.
Managing competing demands and tight deadlines Oversees and participates in the development of performance, efficiency and product quality standards for fabrication team.
Skills:
At least 8
years of hands-on plant management experience in an industrial manufacturing or fabrication environment, glass fabrication is a huge plus.
Professional attitude and appearance Strong LEAN experience Proven industrial manufacturing managerial experience Strong knowledge of machinery, industry standard equipment and technical expertise Be knowledgeable of safety, quality and productivity processes Computer literacy; Microsoft Office and experience with ERP software Ability to create accountability and to lead by example Strong Team Building, decision making and people management skills Strong verbal and written communication skills Must understand CAD drawings Highly organized Proficient in Project Management Job Type:
